Priaulx say Portimão does not suit the BMW

Andy Priaulx say that the FIA World Touring Car Championship race at Portimão this weekend is going to be tough for the BMW’s.
“For us the weekend will be a major challenge, for the circuit has a lot of uphill sections which follow slow corners. These conditions do not really suit our car,” said Priaulx.

Priaulx is third in the championship, not far from the championship lead.

“However, I still plan to collect as many points as possible. That is crucial, for they will keep me in the championship hunt and give me a good starting point for the races in Brands Hatch and Brno,” said Priaulx.

Team mate Augusto Farfus on the other hand has got the pressure on him to score points and move up in the championship after his struggling season start.

“Although it will not be easy for us, I aim to score as many points as possible in order to move myself up in the championship,” said Farfus.

Farfus is certain that the races at Portimão is going to provide for some excellent racing.

“Portimão is perfect for touring cars, and I am convinced we will experience two spectacular races. It is undulating and offers a lot of overtaking opportunities,” said Farfus.
