Tarquini wins the second race in Portugal
Gabriele Tarquini won the second and final race of the day in Portugal. The Italian won the race ahead of the three Chevrolets. Yvan Muller claimed second, Rob Huff third and Alain Menu fourth.
Fredy Barth had pole position but was not able to hold the lead for more than the first half lap.
Alain Menu was briefly in the lead, having passed Norbert Michelisz, only to be passed by Tarquini a few corners later. Tarquini remained in the lead for the rest of the race.
Team mates Andy Priaulx and Augusto Farfus Jr. finished fifth and sixth ahead of three diesel SEAT’s. Tom Coronel crossed the line seventh ahead of race one winner Tiago Monteiro and Fredy Barth claiming ninth.
Darryl O’Young rounded off top ten and won the independents category. Colin Turkington was second best independent in 11th, just 0.8 seconds behind O’Young.
