Huff tops first practice session at Brands
Rob Huff set the fastest time in the Saturday morning practice session for this weekends round at Brands Hatch, whilst many drivers were warned for cutting the track.
Rob Huff set a 1:33.761 around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in the Chevrolet Cruze LT, just ahead of countryman Andy Priaulx in the BMW.
The session was interrupted twice for cars going off, first Michael Nykjaer’s SEAT, quite heavily at Paddock Hill bend, causing plenty of damage to his SUNRED Engineering SEAT León TDI.
The session resumed with 16 minutes remaining, and Rob Huff soon went quickest, but also copped a black/white flag for consistently shortcutting the track. Tom Boardman later picked up the same official warning, though many drivers also were warned about short cutting the course.
With three minutes remaining, Gabriele Tarquini locked up and parked his SEAT in the gravel, and the session was stopped.
