Priaulx drops to 16th after engine change
Andy Priaulx will have a tough battle at his home race, as the BMW Team RBM driver will have to start from 16th after changing his engine.
The Guernsey driver had qualified sixth, the second fastest BMW, and was due to start right behind championship rival Gabriele Tarquini for the rolling start race one, but as a result of the engine change, will drop back the mandated 10 positions.
Priaulx was also fined 1,500 Euros, along with Michael Nykjaer & Tom Boardman for ignoring the yellow flags during qualifying.
Kristian Poulsen was also punished after qualifying, for ignoring Parc Ferme regulations and had all his qualifying times wiped. This means he moves to the back of the grid and will start alongside Tim Coronel, who didn’t take part in the qualifying session but has been allowed special dispensation to race.
