Huff takes first pole of 2010 at Brno

Rob Huff has taken pole position at Brno ahead of SR-Sport driver Gabriele Tarquini and eBay Motors Colin Turkington for the Czech round of the championship.

In a qualifying session where cars were saving tyres for race day at the tough Brno circuit, which is set to favour the rear-wheel drive BMW’s, Rob Huff took pole position in the front-wheel drive Chevrolet Cruze ahead of the SEAT León TDI of Gabriele Tarquini.

Championship leader Yvan Muller has a lot to do in the race, qualifying in eighth place and will be sandwiched between the two León TDI’s of Tom Coronel and Jordi Gené for the rolling start in race one.

Andy Priaulx was unable to put a lap together to get into the top 10 qualifying shoot-out, and will start 11th, with team mate Farfus in fourth place.

The top independent was Colin Turkington, who qualified his eBay Motors BMW an impressive third, and on a track which will come to the BMW’s as the race progresses, along with Farfus could be considered as one of the favourites to take the win tomorrow.
