Ortelli & Ponce de León on top at Córdoba test

Chevrolet’s Guillermo Ortelli and Ford-YPF’s Gabriel Ponce de León set the joint fastest time during the recent mid-season test session at Córdoba.

Ford-YPF and the Renault Lo-Jack team as well as Chevrolet’s Guillermo Ortelli & Honda Racing’s José María López were the only drivers to run on new tyres during the test at Córdoba, which showed with all of those drivers setting times comfortably in the top ten.

The fastest driver running on old tyres was Honda Racing’s Nestor Girolami, just two hundredths of a second faster than team mate López.

Girolami & López were the only Honda Racing regulars at the test, as the team tried out Ricardo Risatti, Jorge Trebbiani & Germán Suarez at the test.

Toyota Team Argentina had eight drivers present at the test, with the season’s regulars joined by their new endurance signings. Agustín Canapino was fastest of the newcomers at Toyota, and was 25th overall. Toyota’s regular driver Mariano Werner was the top Toyota in 12th, fifth fastest on those running used tyres.

The JM Motorsport and Lanús Motorsport teams tested seperately at the Buenos Aires circuit, with Lanús’s Daniel Belli fastest.
