Taniguchi to replace Vaulkhard at Oschersleben

Japanese driver Yukinori Taniguchi will replace Harry Vaulkhard in the second bamboo-engineering Chevrolet Lacetti from this weekend at Oschersleben.

Taniguchi, who last drove in the WTCC in 2008 for the N-Technology Honda team at the rounds at Monza & Okayama, will step in to Vaulkhard’s shoes, who is having to sit out the remainder of the season after one his sponsors was forced to withdraw it’s support.

“While it’s sad to see Harry go it’s a great opportunity for us to work with Yukinori, we’re sure he will be right on the pace and will be a valuable asset for the team,” said Richard Coleman, Team Principal of bamboo-engineering.

“Yukinori’s experience at the Okayama circuit will no doubt help us as a team when we get there, our simulator programme has be vital this season visiting unknown circuits for our drivers, but when we have actual driving experience on the tracks we seem to learn even more.”
