Coronel fastest in second free practice
Tom Coronel was fastest in the final session before the afternoon qualifying session at Valencia in his SR-Sport León, though the Dutch driver will take a 10 place drop from wherever he qualifies.
Coronel’s best lap was 1:44.537, almost a second faster than Farfus’s best in free practice 1. Coronel is due a ten place grid drop due to an engine change this weekend.
The Chevrolets of Alain Menu and Rob Huff were second and third, with Gabriele Tarquini’s SEAT and Yvan Muller’s Chevrolet fourth and fifth fastest.
Priaulx and Farfus did not replicate their pace from the earlier session, setting slower times finishing up 13th and 14th, indicating they may have switched focus to race set-up.
Three independent drivers broke into the top 10, with Krisian Poulsen the fastest independent in 7th, Darryl O’Young eighth and Marc Carol ninth.
