Farfus leads FP1 from Dahlgren

Augusto Farfus was on top in the first free practice session on the drying Japanese circuit, setting the pace ahead of Polestar’s Robert Dahlgren and Chevrolet driver Alain Menu.

The BMW driver’s best lap of 1:38.085 was a fraction down on Rob Huff’s best on the Friday test session.

Robert Dahlgren in the Volvo C30, which isn’t eligible for championship points was second fastest. Dahlgren was over half a second down on Farfus’s best lap, with the following ten cars all within another half a second.

Alain Menu was top of the Chevrolets in third, with Rob Huff behind him. Championship leader Yvan Muller was sixth, with BMW rival Andy Priaulx seventh and SEAT’s Gabriele Tarquini 11th.

Kristian Poulsen was the top independent runner in 12th place.

Yukinori Taniguchi was the fastest of the local drivers. The Japanese driver, in his third race of the season was 17th just 1.5s down on Farfus.
