Priaulx wins the BRDC Gold Star
Andy Priaulx has beaten Formula 1 driver Mark Webber to be awarded the prestigious BRDC Gold Star for 2010, and becomes the first touring car driver to win the award.
Priaulx’s strong 2010 WTCC season, where he goes into the final round with an outside chance of winning his fourth championship, has seen him to win his first overall Gold Star award from the BRDC.
Andy’s achievements in other series including the American Le Mans Series and the V8 Supercars Australia championships haved aided the Guernsey-driver to the award over Australian Mark Webber, whose crash out at Korea dropped him out of contention at the last minute.
Priaulx has received a number of special awards from the BRDC for his success in the WTCC before, with two Special Gold Stars for his first two WTCC titles and a Gold Medal for his hat-trick of titles in 2007.
