Yvan Muller: “I used the red flag to take a nap”
Yvan Muller was seemingly not fazed by the qualifying chaos with four red flags as he not only took pole, but also took a nap during one of the breaks.
“It was nice, I used the break of the first red flag to take a nap inside my car and then I was fresh to restart,” said Muller.
While many of the drivers seemed frustrated because of the interruptions, Muller said it is an expected part of racing at Macau.
“This is Macau! We must be prepared for such happenings when we race here,” said Muller.
Muller took pole with close to four tenths ahead of his team mate Rob Huff and was pleased with the laps he managed to set before the end of the session.
“I could have improved my time earlier, but I had to abort my lap because of the third red flag. When the session resumed I was the first out of the pit and it paid off as immediately after I set the fastest lap the session was stopped for good,” said Muller.
