Huff takes pole in short qualifying shootout
Rob Huff has taken pole position for the Macau WTCC race one with a best lap of 2:32.321 ahead of the SEAT of Norbert Michelisz, with Muller third.
Yvan Muller was the first to hit the barriers early in the session, damaging the front of his Chevrolet Cruze and had to retreat to the pits for repair.
In the meantime, team-mate Huff put down a benchmark pole position lap as the the 15 minute qualifying shootout took place with no red flag disruptions, unlike the Q1 session on Friday.
Yvan Muller eventually went out and put his Chevrolet second on the grid, whilst Huff went out and improved his time.
Norbert Michelisz put in a surprise lap to qualify as the top SEAT in second place, but will drop five places on the grid as a penalty for not respecting the weighing procedure on Friday.
This will mean Chevrolets will start 1-2-3 on the grid for race one, with Tiago Monteiro fourth, the top SEAT, and Augusto Farfus fifth, the top BMW.
