The prize money for the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s independents’ category has been raised to a total of 624,000 euros for the 2011 season by WTCC partners Yokohama and Monroe.

Yokohama is going to continue awarding 40,000 euros per race weekend. The prize money is going to be given to the top six drivers overall of each weekend, by adding the results from the two races of each race weekend.

The scale of the prize money will be awarded according to the following list:

12,000 euros to the first driver
10,000 euros to the second driver
8,000 euros to the third driver

3,000 euros to the fifth driver
2,000 euros to the sixth driver

On top of that, 3 500 euros will be awarded by Monroe to the driver setting fastest lap of each race.
