Nykjær confirms continued WTCC program

Michel Nykjær is going to continue driving in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
“We have managed to get our things together, I am continuing with SUNRED in the WTCC 2011,” said Nykjær to Racemag.

2011 is going to be Nykjær’s second season in the WTCC, driving a SEAT León TDi.

“Now I know all the tracks, there are some new for this season, but that is going to be the same for everyone. I finished 11th overall in the WTCC last year, my goal is to better that,” said Nykjær.

The team is going to start the season with the diesel engine, at least for the first races, before switching over to the new 1.6 litre turbo engine.

“We are going to continue with the diesel engine on dispensation, as the petrol engine is not ready yet. It is most likely going to take a few races before we get it,” said Nykjær.
