Chevrolet pleased with final pre-season test

Chevrolet completed the final test before the FIA World Touring Car Championship season start in Brazil. Yvan Muller and Rob Huff drove the cars during the Spanish test and champion Muller was pleased.
“I feel quite good in the car although I have done only four days of testing so far, which is not enough when you have to cope with a new car and new regulations. With the turbo engine the Chevrolet is now very similar to the SEAT turbo diesel in terms of driveability and set up,” said Muller.

The Chevrolet Cruze is equipped with the new 1.6 turbo engine and Chevrolet development engineer Darren Revens says the main thing is to get the reliability right as the new engine has got to last longer.

“We are very happy with how this test has gone. With the new regulations, reliability is the key, because the engine must last for a minimum of nine events. Therefore we have focused on making it reliable. Here in Barcelona we managed to cover a fair distance without any major drama. So far so good!” said Revens.

Also present during the test were Volvo-drivers Robert Dahlgren and James Thompson [STCC], SEAT-drivers Gabriele Tarquini, Tiago Monteiro, Pepe Oriola, Paul Ip and Chevrolet-driver Rickard Rydell [STCC]
