Chevrolet continue testing ahead of new season

Rob Huff is giving the new 1.6 litre Cruze a final test ahead of next months opening round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship at Curitiba.

The new Cruze has covered more than 4,500km in testing since the engine was first prepared in the Autumn last year. That’s equivalent to two-thirds of the total mileage the car would cover in a season, and four times as much of the race distances alone.

The key focus of the test is to work on both performance and reliability, with the new WTCC regulations specifying that only one engine change is permitted during 2011, and none from 2012.

Rob Huff is testing the car at the Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire today, and will move on to the Silverstone circuit on Friday, whilst the team’s race cars are already en route to Brazil.

The team’s drivers Yvan Muller, Rob Huff & Alain Menu will then be present at the Geneva Motor Show next week as Chevrolet shows off some of its new model range.
