USTCC champion gets WTCC test as prize

The FIA World Touring Car Championship and US Touring Car Championship organizers have announced that the winner of the 2011 Nitto USTCC is going to get a free test with Proteam Racing.
“Then it’s up to him to impress Proteam’s staff. We have some amazing drivers in the US and we want to show the world that they can compete at the highest levels,” said Ali Arsham, USTCC promotor.

The WTCC organizers and USTCC announced a co-operation earlier which they hope to result in a joint race in the USA.

USTCC has introduced S2000 specification cars and WTCC promotor Marcello Lotti hopes for more to come out of their co-operation.

“I’m very proud of this initiative that fits perfectly in our plans of throwing a bridge between the World Championship and those National Championships that share the same view of what touring car racing is,” said Lotti.
