Darryl O’Young looking forward to Cruze upgrade
Darryl O’Young is going to take part in the FIA World Touring Car Championship 2011 for Bamboo Engineering with start from the second race of the season at Zolder in a Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T.
“After competing with a 3-year-old Chevrolet Lacetti in 2010, I have been upgraded to a highly competitive race car. That, in itself, will be an amazing opportunity and I will give it my best to fight for podium results in the WTCC for all my supporters in Hong Kong and China,” said O’Young.
O’Young finished fourth in the Yokohama Independents Trophy last season and is for this season going to have Yukinori Taniguchi as team mate.
“The team all know how each other work and I have developed an excellent relationship with my engineer Nick Clipson, so we will all be attacking right from the first rounds. I am very happy to remain with Bamboo Engineering for a second season,” said O’Young.
Alongside his WTCC programme, O’Young is going to take part in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, making his 2011 racing programme immense with 33 races.
