Dudukalo not fazed by crash

WTCC newcomer Aleksei Dudukalo is not too shaken by his crash in the shakedown, as the Lukoil-SUNRED team work hard to repair his car for running tomorrow.

The 34-year-old Russian was in ninth place, the third fastest of the six SEAT León TDIs in what was scheduled to be a 90 minute shakedown session, before he crashed into the barrier with 20 minutes remaining. The session was then red flagged and not resumed.

“The accident is not as daunting as it might seem,” said Dudukalo.

“We tried to restore the car for the second session, but at some time in advance decided that it is better to focus attention to repair and prepare the car for tomorrow.”
