Spataro wins Race 2 in Santa Fe
Emiliano Spataro has taken his third career victory at Santa Fe, winning again where he took his last first win only last year with Fiat.
Spataro had qualified for race two on pole position, and held off Leonel Pernía in the Equipo Petrobras Honda throughout the races 24 laps.
Fabian Yannantuoni pulled off another great result in his first year with the works Ford-YPF team with third.
Christian Ledesma, who had a strong run in Saturday’s night race didn’t have such a good Sunday, taken out in a collision with former team-mate Guillermo Ortelli, now driving for the Lo-Jack Renault Team, which also saw the end of Facundo Ardusso’s race in the Peugeot.
Matías Rossi was again the top finisher for Toyota Team Argentina in fourth, ahead of yesterday’s race winner Mariano Altuna’s Honda Civic.
Juan Manuel Silva finished down in 12th place which saw his championship lead drastically shrunk. The Ford-YPF driver now leads with 41 points, just two points ahead of Honda’s Mariano Altuna and Silva’s Ford team-mate Fabian Yannantuoni in joint second, with Matías Rossi just half a point behind them.
The next race of the championship is in three weeks at San Martin, where Ford were victorious last year with Norberto Fontana.
