Bamboo takes delivery of new Chevrolet Cruzes

Bamboo Engineering has taken delivery of their new Chevrolet Cruzes. The team shook the cars down at an airfield ahed of the upcoming WTCC race at Zolder next weekend.
“We’re very pleased to have the Cruzes now and we can look forward to regaining our competitiveness. We appreciate the huge effort that RML Chevrolet has made to get these cars ready for this weekend,” said Team Principal Richard Coleman.

The team started the WTCC season in Brazil with their older Chevrolet Lacettis for Darryl O’Young and Yukinori Taniguchi.

“We knew we would struggle in Brazil with the Lacettis and our season really begins now. The shakedown went well and the cars are now ready to go. Darryl and Yuke will get their first run in the cars in Fridays practice sessions and I’m sure they’ll adapt very well and quickly get up to speed,” said Coleman.

O’Young is fifth in the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy after the first race and his team mate Taniguchi is ninth.

“I’m really excited about getting the Cruze, I’m sure we can now push forward and make a strong challenge for the Independents Championship,” said O’Young.

Chevrolet Motorsport boss Eric Neve is pleased to see the new turbo charged Chevrolet Cruze in the hands of privateer team Bamboo Engineering.

“At Chevrolet we are delighted to have more of our cars on the grid and especially with the new engine. We rate Bamboo Engineering very highly and are pleased that they have chosen Chevrolet and shown commitment to our brand and to the championship. I wish them very well for the remainder of the championship,” said Neve.
