Coronel disappointed with qualifying
ROAL Motorsport driver Tom Coronel will start eighth for race one and provisionally tenth on the grid for race two after a troubled qualifying session.
The Dutch driver had a good test at Adria earlier in the week and on Monday at Monza, ironing out a few issues with the BMW 320 TC, including the braking issue which plagued him at Zolder, but by going fastest in the Qualifying 1 session has put himself (at worst) 10th on the grid for Race Two tomorrow.
With no team-mate to grab a slipstream off of during Q2, Coronel tried to get a draft of his former SUNRED team-mate Tiago Monteiro, but admitted “that didn’t work” to TouringCarTimes, and so will start eighth for the first race, the third highest placed of the BMWs with Norbert Michelisz fourth and Kristian Poulsen just ahead in seventh.
Coronel has put out a video qualifying re-cap and ‘guide to Milan’ in his usual style.
