Muller leads all Chevrolet top four in Free Practice 2
Double WTCC Champion Yvan Muller turned up the pace in Free Practice 2, breaking the circuit lap record to lead a Chevrolet top four in the final free practice session.
Yvan Muller’s best lap of 1:58.540, thanks to a slip stream from Chevrolet team-mate Rob Huff, put the Frenchman at the top of the time sheets, and was half a second quicker than Dirk Muller’s lap record from 2005.
Huff was second, with Alain Menu third and Bamboo Engineering’s Darryl O’Young fourth in his Cruze 1.6T and the top independent driver.
Tiago Monteiro was the closest non-Chevrolet. The SUNRED Engineering driver was fifth fastest, almost 1.3 seconds down on Muller’s best lap just and just ahead of SUNRED team-mate Gabriele Tarquini.
Pepe Oriola was the top Jay-Ten driver in tenth place in his SEAT León TDI.
