SUNRED tests 1.6 turbo engine in Spain

SUNRED Engineering tested the new 1.6 turbo engine at the Spanish track Calafat last week.
“It was first real kilometers for engine and we needed to gather as much data as possible, thus engineers deforced engines to 90% of power,” said SUNRED driver Aleksey Dudukalo.

The team had two cars present for the drivers during the test, with Dudukalo and Gabriele Tarquini doing race simulations.

“We had no technical problems of any sorts. These two days gave us enough data for analysis,” said Dudukalo.

SUNRED has not yet decided whether to introduce the new engine for the coming races in Hungary this weekend.

“Before Hungary, the engineers must finish in-depth study of data and decide if engine are ready for full-blown debut in race,” said Dudukalo.
