SEAT 1.6 engine not likely for Hungary

While SUNRED SEAT continues an intense test programme for the new 1.6 petrol turbo engine, Gabriele Tarquini says that he most likely will continue with the 2.0 diesel engine at Hungaroring this weekend.
“We are happy with engine development, everything is going as planned. However with 80 % probability I will use diesel engine in Hungary because TDi suits this track better,” said Tarquini.

Tarquini drove the new engine at the Alcarras curcuit yesterday, a day without any technical difficulties.

“It was good that we again had a trouble free day and completed all goals we had set for this tests. The acquired data will help the engineers to analyze behaviour of engine and the turbo in detail,” said Tarquini.

SUNRED Engineering has stated that they are going to change to 1.6 engines from their current 2.0 diesel engines on all six cars.
