Second BMW in the pipeline for Thomas Biagi

2010 International Superstars champion and former FIA GT champion Thomas Biagi got his first taste of the WTCC BMW 320 TC at a test at the Adria circuit yesterday, in preparation for a possible drive later in the year with the team.

Biagi drove the 1.6 litre turbocharged BMW 320 TC at the Veneto circuit, before handing it back to the car’s regular owner, Dutch driver Tom Coronel later in the day.

“The BMW 320 TC definitely amazed me,” said Biagi.

“Despite having less power than the BMW M3 I drive in the Superstars Series, the chassis and suspensions are so evolved to compensate this difference thanks also to the lighter weight. The car gives back to the driver all those sensations needed to drive to the limit even if the turbo engine requires a different driving style.”

ROAL Motorsport Team Principal Roberto Ravaglia said:
“We are working to set the basis for lining up a second BMW 320 TC aside Tom Coronel’s in the final races of the FIA WTCC. This ambitious project is unfortunately conditioned by the need of finding the necessary budget and we are working with Thomas to involve some sponsors interested in extra-European markets and in the high media impact offered by the FIA WTCC world championship”.
