SUNRED hit trouble at Brno

Fredy Barth and Tiago Monteiro were unable to set times during qualifying, with problems with the new 1.6 litre turbocharged engine. Both wil be allowed to start the race.

Monteiro had been suffering with a misfire all throughout the morning practice sessions and has little time to work on the car, with the Portuguese driver writing the weekend off and looking ahead to his home round in Porto next month.

The SUNRED team has also been found to be using different software than that they were homologated to run prior to this event on their five 1.6 turbo cars. Each entry has seen the team hit with a 2,000 EUR fine, suspended if the car conforms to the specification at the next round.
