Rob Huff keeps good points lead leaving Czech

Yvan Muller has closed up by six points on Rob Huff at Brno, but Huff was happy to steal the win from his French team-mate in race one after resolving a mechanical issue which had plagued him all weekend.

“Yvan’s been three tenths faster than everyone all weekend, but we found that a mechanical part of my car that effects the handling wasn’t actually working,” said Huff to TouringCarTimes.

“It’s been like that all weekend, so we changed it just before the race and that made all the difference to the car. It was a lot better, it was always left-handers I was struggling with and there (race one) it was perfect, got fastest lap, pulled away from (Yvan) a bit and then managed to coax it the last three laps home, try to stay off kerbs and not puncture tyres.”

“I think for once in my life, a ballsy move around the outside paid off.”

Rob Huff maintains his season long lead of the championship, but Yvan’s win in race two with Huff finishing fourth means the gap is now down to 25 points, with Yvan scoring the most points at the last two Eastern European rounds.
