Canapino takes first pole with Chevrolet
Agustín Canapino has secured his first pole position in the TC 2000 championship at Cordoba, and the first for Chevrolet since they switched to the new Cruze earlier this year.
The 21-year-old from Buenos Aires claimed the spot with a best time of 1:29.931 in the qualifying session to take his first career pole position in his first full season in the championship.
Former champion José María López was second fastest in his Fiat, with Honda Racing driver Leonel Pernía third fastest.
Canapino’s team-mate Christian Ledesma lines up fourth, securing a strong result for Chevrolet at Cordoba in qualifying.
Championship leader Matías Rossi struggled in qualifying and only set the 15th fastest time, failing to go through into the final top 10 section of qualifying in his TTA Toyota Corolla.
