Fabiani excluded from both races
Italian driver Fabio Fabiani has been disqualified from both of today’s races for different reasons, taking away both of the Italian’s first two victories in the Jay-Ten category, in which he was the only competitor.
Fabiani missed the last two meetings of the Championship, but on his return this weekend at Donington Park, found himself the only competitor running the the 2010 WTCC regulations. These are open to 2.0 litre normally aspirated or turbo-diesel engines, and classified separately as part of the Jay-Ten Trophy.
Fabiani was classified 17th, one lap down in race one, but was excluded for breaching Parc Fermé conditions inbetween races.
The 36-year-old Italian was also excluded from race two after a fuel sample from his car wasn’t found to be compliant with the regulations. Fabiani therefore loses the two class victories and the related prize money.
