Fasachi takes win for Renault at Rio Hondo

Guido Falaschi took a shock win with the Renault Fluence at Rio Honda in the independent Sportteam entry, ahead of Christian Ledesma and José María López.

The Sportteam Renault led from start to finish, battling with the also new Chevrolet Cruze of Christian Ledesma in the early stages of the race.

It’s the first time since 2005 that a privateer team has taken victory in the 3M Argentinean TC 2000 Championship.

Toyota Team Argentina driver Matías Rossi finished 11th, but maintains the Championship lead, now 40 points ahead of Honda’s Leonel Pernía.

The Ford-YPF team continue to lose ground, with early season points leader Juan Manual Silva down to seventh in the standings and reigning champion Norbert Fontana down in 13th, 92.5 points down on Rossi.

The Championship now takes a month off before resuming at La Plata on 21st August.
