Menu and Huff to race in Buenos Aires 200km

Chevrolet WTCC drivers Alain Menu and Rob Huff will take part in this year’s Buenos Aires 200km during the short break in the WTCC season between Oschersleben this weekend and Valencia in September.

The famous Argentinean touring car race moves this year from the Autódromo Juan y Óscar Gálvez to the Autódromo Roberto Mouras in La Plata, around the Argentinean capital.

World Touring Car Championship leader Rob Huff will take part in the event for only the second time. Alain Menu will return to the event for the sixth time, and is a race which he won in 2006 when sharing with then Chevrolet driver Matías Rossi, whom now leads the championship with Toyota Team Argentina.

Huff and Menu will pair with the team’s current drivers Agustín Canapino and Christian Ledesma in the team’s new-for-2011 Chevrolet Cruze race cars, although they’re nothing like the 1.6 litre turbocharged machines they drive in the WTCC.

Last year, Yvan Muller took part for the first time, finishing fifth on his first attempt, though will be giving the event a miss this year, with the Argentinean Chevrolet team only running two cars in TC 2000.

The race takes place this year on August 21st.
