Rob Huff fastest in Free Practice 2
World Touring Car Championship leader Rob Huff was fastest in a dry second free practice ahead of this afternoon’s qualifying session at Oschersleben.
Rob Huff set the best lap of 1:34.741 late in the session to top Chevrolet team-mate Yvan Muller, who in turn had just gone faster than Robert Dahlgren in the Polestar Racing Volvo.
Michel Nykjaer was again the fastest independents’ trophy driver in fifth, with Tom Coronel the fastest BMW driver in sixth.
Stefano D’Aste was the first and only casualty of the session, sliding into the gravel trap in the Wiechers-Sport BMW 320 TC on his first flying run.
Ibrahim Okyay was on track for the first time today after an engine change and missing the first session. The Turkish driver was 19th fastest in the normally aspirated BMW 320si, just half a second behind Aleksei Dudukalo in the SR León 1.6T and four seconds clear of Fabio Fabiani in the other non-turbo BMW.
The qualifying session takes place at 14:00 CET.
