Muller and Thompson test with Bamboo Engineering

Yvan Muller and James Thompson took part in a test with Bamboo Engineering at Rockingham last week, helping regular driver Yukinori Taniguchi with development work of the Chevrolet Cruze.
“I was happy to help bamboo with their work today. The car felt really good and I was able to set the time with this car as I did with my own RML car, in fact the balance of this car felt better in some areas,” said Muller.

Thompson, who recently left Volvo Polestar Racing in the STCC, completed his first ever laps in the Cruze.

“The car felt great and did everything you would expect from a car that’s leading the championship. Although I’d never driven a Cruze before, I felt comfortable very quickly. I was here today and was pleased to help out the guys at bamboo and I’m grateful for the opportunity to drive their car for a few laps,” said Thompson.

Team Principal, Richard Coleman, was pleased with the expertise from Muller and Thompson, hoping for the test day to boost Taniguchi for the final part of the season.

“It was a good day, with some worthwhile running and it was a great opportunity for the team to have two drivers of the calibre of Yvan and James drive our car today. Their feedback was valuable and I’m sure will benefit Yuke and the team in the coming months during the run in to the championship finale,” said Coleman.

Sebastien Loeb was also present during the test, as we reported last week.
