Robert Dahlgren fastest in Valencia warm-up

Volvo Polestar Racing driver Robert Dahlgren was fastest of all in the Volvo C30 in the morning warm-up session, leading the three Chevrolet Cruzes of Muller, Huff & Menu.

Dahlgren is the first car to beat Muller in a session all weekend. The Swedish driver’s fastest lap was a 1:43.291, over four-tenths of a second quicker than Muller.

Dahlgren had a troubled Saturday, spinning off early in FP1, losing the turbo in FP2 limiting his running and qualifying in just 17th place for both of today’s races, and will be looking to work his way up the field.

Tom Coronel was next behind the three Chevrolets and the fastest of the BMW drivers, with local driver Javier Villa the quickest of the independents in sixth.

Aleksei Dudukalo’s session ended early. The SUNRED Engineering driver was suffering with the set-up on his SR Leon 1.6T, locking up into almost every corner. The Russian driver eventually lost the car into Turn 1 at the start of his third timed lap.

The first race of the day starts at 13:35 CET.
