Uncertainty on fourth Chevrolet for China & Macau

RML have flown out a fourth Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T to Asia which will be driven by World Rally Championship veteran Toshi Arai at his home race, but there’s uncertainty as to whether the car will be used after that despite appearing on the Macau Grand Prix entry list.

The works RML team will run a fourth car for Arai at Suzuka, as they did for Brazilian Stock Car star Carlos ‘Cacá’ Bueno at the start of the year before that car was handed over to Bamboo Engineering at Zolder. Chevrolet Motorsport Manager Eric Nève has however told Motorsport-Total that there’s no definite plan for it to race again in whilst in Asia.

“It s still unclear whether we will use our fourth vehicle in China and Macau,” said Nève to Motorsport-Total.

“We flew it for Toshi Arai in Japan and then it’s in this region of the world. For the last two events of the year there are still no concrete plans.”
