Suzuka kicks off Chevrolet title fight

The Japanese race at Suzuka this weekend kicks off the final three races where Chevrolet drivers Yvan Muller, Rob Huff and Alain Menu are alone in the title fight.
“I’ll try my best to stay in the race for the title, it’s not going to be easy, but I won’t give up as long as the mathematics give me a chance,” said Menu.

Muller has got the best position ahead of the final three races with the championship lead on 333 points, compared to Huff’s 317 and Menu’s 253.
“The championship battle? I am not thinking much about that, really, my objective is to work well and do the best I can, as always,” said Muller.

WTCC races at the east course of the legendary Suzuka, a track new to all teams in the championship.
“Clearly, the aim at Suzuka, will be to put my title bid back on track, but it’s still a long way to Macau… Suzuka will be difficult, especially because we are racing on the short circuit, which seems quite hard, but there is no reason not to be competitive there as well. In fact, the Cruze has always performed very well, and won, on every new circuit,” said Huff.

150 points remain to be fought for and the internal Chevrolet fight is expected to be hard. Chevrolet has not issued any team orders other than:
“…the only order given by the team is to fight fair and not to hurt the interests of the Chevrolet team…”
