Falaschi excluded for causing López/Rossi crash

Guido Falaschi has been excluded from the results of the TC 2000 race at Potrero de los Funes. The Sportteam Renault driver was disqualified for his part in causing the crash which took out former Championship leader Matías Rossi as well as José María López.

The 22-year-old from Santa Fe clipped the Fiat Linea of José María López on the second lap, sending the two-time Champion across the kerbs out of control into the Toyota Corolla of Rossi. López was out on the spot with major front-end damage to his Fiat, whilst Rossi wrestled his car back to the pits but was unable to continue, visibly shaken and initially refusing to give interviews to the media.

Falaschi had gone on to finish in ninth place, but his exclusion moves the Honda Civic of Nestor Girolami up into that spot, and more importantly the other Toyota of Mariano Werner into tenth, which means Werner is now two points ahead of Rossi in the standings on 168.5 ahead of the final round of the season, and just two points behind the Equipo Petrobras Honda of new Championship leader Leonel Pernía.
