Bamboo to run latest specification Cruzes
Bamboo Engineering will run two Cruzes in this year’s WTCC, with the latest updates from the works RML-run team, with the drivers soon to be announced.
The Silverstone-based independent team will run the Cruze with the 1.6 litre turbocharged engine for the second consecutive season, last year running drivers Darryl O’Young and Yukinori Taniguchi in the championship.
“We’re delighted to be able to run with exactly the same sepcifcation cars as the works RML team this year,” said Team Principal Richard Coleman. “The Cruze has been outstandingly successful over the last couple of seasons and we’re confident tha that will continue in 2012 with these latest updates.”
“Last year we took late delivery of our Cruzes and missed the first two rounds of the championship…we took delivery only dayes before the Zolder event where we made immediate impact. Now we have almost a year’s experience with the car and with the latest updates we’re confident that we’ll be in contention for the Independents’ title once again this year.”
“On the driver front, we’re talking to several top line drivers at the moment and we’ll hopefully be in a position to announce our line-up in the next couple of weeks.”
