Isaac Tutumlu joins Proteam Racing

Isaac Tutumlu has joined Proteam Racing for the 2012 FIA World Touring Car Championship season.
“I’m excited, as WTCC is a championship I have been following for many years and where I have always wanted to race. I want to thank Proteam for giving me the opportunity to race with them and with such an important brand like BMW,” said Tutumlu.

The 26-year-old has previously raced in the Porsche Supercup as well as a couple of races in the Superstars International Series for Campos Racing.

Tutumlu is going to be team mate with already confirmed Proteam driver Mehdi Bennani and faces a steep learning curve with the season premiere being this weekend.
“I do not have specific expectations since it is my first time racing in the series and with this car. Most of the tracks, except Monza, Valencia and Hungaroring, are new to me, and this will also make the experience more challenging. I hope to help Proteam to achieve the best results possible,” said Tutumlu.

Proteam had previously announced Javier Villa as one of their drivers two weeks ago.
