Chevrolet 1-2-3-4-5 in first Monza test
Chevrolet picked up right from where they left off from last year by claiming the top five positions in the first test session of the 2012 FIA World Touring Car Championship season at Monza. Champion Yvan Muller headed his two team mates Rob Huff and Alain Menu in the top three with 0.234 seconds separating the three.
Fourth and fifth saw two other Chevrolet Cruzes in the form of WTCC newcomer Alex MacDowall in fourth, 0.359 seconds behind, and STCC champion Rickard Rydell in fifth, 1.255 seconds behind.
Best non-Chevrolet driver was Norbert Michelisz in sixth ahead of Stefano D’Aste in seventh. Tiago Monteiro was best SEAT man in eighth, just over two seconds from Muller’s time.
