Engstler set to run third BMW in Asian races

Liqui Moly Team Engstler is set to run a naturally aspirated BMW in the three Asian races of the FIA World Touring Car Championship. Regular drivers Franz Engstler and Charles Ng will be joined by Japanese racer Masaki Kano at Suzuka and Joseph Rosa-Merszei at Macau.

The team is currently working on a deal for a driver in the Chinese race at Shanghai as well.
“We still have to finalize a deal and in the next weeks we will evaluate the proposals,” said Team Manager Kurt Treml.

Both Kano and Rosa-Merszei have raced in the WTCC previsouly. Kano has done selected WTCC races for Engstler since 2008, as well as taking part in the Asian Touring Car Championship.

Macanese racer Rosa-Merszei took part in his first WTCC race in 2009 and has previously raced single seaters, mainly at Macau.
