Colin Turkington tests West Surrey Racing BMW at Pembrey

2009 British Touring Car champion Colin Turkington has been testing for West Surrey Racing at the Pembrey circuit in Wales, driving the team’s regular BTCC BMW 320si but outfitted with Yokohama tyres.

The 30-year-old competed in three rounds of last year’s WTCC, last racing at the Tian Ma Circuit near Shanghai, China for Wiechers-Sport with support from West Surrey Racing, after competing in the 2011 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship for Flash Engineering where he finished fifth in the standings in his first season.

The Northern Irishman hasn’t been racing so far this year, but has kept his hand in testing, including a run last weekend at Anderstorp in the Volvo S60 of Polestar Racing in the TTA – Racing Elite League.

The only two series which run S2000 cars with Yokohama tyres are the World and Scandinavian Touring Car Championships.
