Alex Zanardi takes third Paralympics medal
Alex Zanardi took his third Paralympics medal at Brands Hatch as the former WTCC driver claimed the silver medal in the Mixed H1-4 Time Trial for Team Italy.
“Once again I am speechless. When you achieve something on your own it is great but winning as a team is even better,” said Zanardi to brandshatch.co.uk.
The Italian raced with Italian team mates Francesca Fenocchio and Vittorio Podesta, finishing behind USA.
Zanardi has hinted a return to motorsport with the legendary Indy 500 race, but is not ruling out an appearance in the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janiero.
“Maybe there will also be time for Rio, but just to make sure I put it all on this. It is perfectly fine for me to go back to normal life, take my son to school, things like that. But if along the way there will be a chance to light some more firecrackers, I won’t hold myself back. It would be a shame to miss opportunities,” said Zanardi.
