Eric Nève leaves Chevrolet for HWA Mercedes

Chevrolet Motorsport Manager Eric Nève will leave Chevrolet to start a new role at HWA AG from the beginning of October, working on Mercedes’ DTM and Formula 3 programmes.

The Frenchman has been at the helm of Chevrolet’s World Touring Car programme since it began in 2005, a joint operation between Chevrolet Europe and the British-based RML team. The manufacturer will leave the WTCC at the end of this season, having secured the last two drivers’ and manufacturers’ titles in the Championship and is certain to repeat the feat again this season.

Nève is not present in the USA for Chevrolet’s first ‘home event’ in the WTCC, instead Chevrolet Europe’s Director of Communications Vijay Iyer, who has motorsport experience from having worked on Opel’s DTM programme in the early 2000s, will incorporate Nève’s responsibilities into his position. Nève’s role is not being replaced as Chevrolet no longer has a European motorsport programme.
