Hugo Valente to race for SUNRED in Shanghai
SEAT León Supercópa France points leader Hugo Valente will make his WTCC debut with SURNED Engineering at Shanghai, taking over the SR León 1.6T previously driven by Tiago Monteiro and Hiroki Yoshimoto this season.
The 20-year-old brings the entry for the race up to 26, with more still expected. SUNRED will be fielding a minimum of four cars with Valente’s addition, with Pepe Oriola, Fernando Monje and Fredy Barth all competing for the team in SEAT Sport powered cars.
Valente will be driving the car powered by SUNRED’s own 1.6 turbo, developed for the 2011 WTCC season.
Valente competes in the French SEAT León Supercopa for Team Clairet Sport, which concludes this weekend at Paul Ricard. Valente currenly leads the championship by five points over Jimmy Altunes.
