Rob Huff leads morning warm-up at Macau
Rob Huff has continued his run, topping every session since Friday, with the fastest time in the warm-up, with the Honda of Tiago Monteiro the only driver within a second at the Macau circuit.
Huff’s time of 2:31.160 was just under seven-tenths of a second clear of Tiago Monteiro’s, whilst Yvan Muller, who still has an outside chance of taking his fourth title fourth fastest in the sister Chevrolet Cruze to Rob Huff.
Gabriele Tarquini was fourth fastest for SEAT, with Alain Menu’s Chevrolet fifth and Fredy Barth the fastest of the independents’ trophy drivers in sixth in his repaired SEAT León WTCC. Though Barth had a late session scare, going wide at the Melco hairpin, bringing out the waved yellow flags in the last minute of the session.
Norbert Michelisz didn’t set any timed laps in his Zengõ Motorsport BMW 320 TC, whilst China Dragon Racing’s Ng Kin Veng didn’t take part in the 15 minute session.
There’s a short turnaround between the warm-up and the first race of the day which takes place at 10:30 MST.
