Sebastien Loeb modest on WTCC expectations

Nine-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb is expected to join the FIA World Touring Car Championship in 2014 with Citroën and the Frenchman is modest ahead of his potential switch from WRC to WTCC.
“Maybe I won’t make the top in WTCC. It would be a miracle to be immediately at the right level,” said Loeb to Autosport.

Loeb will be racing next year in a McLaren MP4-12C with his own team in the new GT Sprint championship, alongside a four event WRC programme. While the current WTCC cars are far from the performance of the GT cars, Loeb hopes the new regulations set for WTCC in 2014 is going to change that.
“The cars will have more power, more downforce, and they will be wider and lower to the ground. The performance of the WTCC is not too bad compared to the GT car, even with 200 BHP less,” said Loeb.

Citroën has not formally announced a WTCC entry as yet, making it a waiting time for Loeb.
“At the moment we are waiting for the OK from the board. If it comes, I plan for at least two years; one to learn and one to drive,” said Loeb.
