Progress in testing for Honda Racing Team JAS at Valencia

Honda Racing Team JAS are making good progress after day two of a three day test at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo circuit in Spain, with drivers Tiago Monteiro and Gabriele Tarquini behind the wheel.

The team completed 280km of testing on Wednesday, with a further 225km completed today at the track, running with some new developments to their Mugen-built engine, and with the chassis which competed at the last three rounds of the 2012 season, whilst the team continues work on its 2013 challenger.

“We are testing last year’s car with a lot of new parts we have developed for 2013,” said Team Principal Alessandro Mariani

“Our targets are validating the best solutions to be used during the new season and continuing the technical development of the car. We are happy with the performance and feedback from the drivers, although it is impossible to make a comparison with the times clocked by WTCC cars in last year’s event, because the track has recently been resurfaced.”
