Pre-season tests disrupted by weather
The weather conditions in Europe have disrupted a number of teams’ testing plans ahead of the start of the 2013 World Touring Car Championship season next month.
Cold and wintry conditions have hampered some testing programmes, such as LADA Sport’s. The Russian team, which operates from engine supplier ORECA’s base as Magny-Cours, was unable to test until late in the afternoon at the French circuit yesterday due to the inclement weather.
The Münnich Motorsport team was also scheduled to test at Monza this week ahead of their WTCC debut, but with Monza forced to cancel all open test days this week, the German team will instead head to the Slovakiaring on Wednesday and Thursday so drivers Marc Basseng, Markus Winkelhock and René Münnich can get further acquainted with the SEAT León WTCC.
